The origin of Starhorse Shipping Lines Inc. (SSLI) could be traced with the establishment of Viva Shipping Lines, which was founded by Don Domingo Reyes. During the 1970, Viva Shipping Lines was the most dominant domestic shipping firm in the Southern Tagalog Region.

In 2004, Mr. Victor A. Reyes, the youngest son of Don Domingo Reyes, conceptualized the formation of his own shipping company. Starhorse Shipping Lines was born on October 2007 when Mr. Victor A. Reyes registered his business with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) as a single proprietorship.

SSLI, a MARINA accredited shipping operator,backed by shore-based professionals and competent shipboard personnel, currently owns and operates twelve (12) vessels plying the following routes:

1. Lucena City – Balanacan (Mogpog, Marinduque) and vice versa;
2. Lucena City – Cawit (Boac, Marinduque) - Romblon Province and vice versa;
3. Batangas City – Mindoro Province and vice versa.
4. San Andres (Quezon) - San Pascual (Masbate) – Pasacao (Camarines Sur) and vice versa
5. Lucena City - Masbate and vice versa
6. Real (Quezon) - Polillo (Quezon) and vice versa
